Prior to joining the firm he lived and worked in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, serving for many years as Attorney and Associate General Counsel of Saudi Arabian Oil Company and its predecessor Arabian American Oil Company.
Mr. Burgoyne has extensive experience with the commercial and corporate legal matters related to the business operations of large and small enterprises. He has been deeply involved with all legal matters affecting the development of large, complex projects, the negotiation and preparation of agreements required to carry them out, and their administration from conception to completion. He has been responsible for the evaluation and negotiation of numerous contested matters, has conducted arbitrations of private commercial legal disputes within and outside the United States, and has advised on and conducted claim proceedings involving the United Nations and public international law.
In addition, Mr. Burgoyne has been responsible for the development and completion of syndicated financings both for general corporate purposes and for specialized uses such as ship construction. He has also advised on environmental law matters with particular emphasis on the environmental aspects of offshore industrial operations and marine commerce.
At Paul Frank + Collins Mr. Burgoyne advises clients on the formation and management of companies; domestic and international commercial transactions; engineering, procurement and construction contracting; joint ventures; corporate financings; dispute resolution; and matters involving the conduct of business and commerce in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.
