Mark Hall Participates in Environmental Focus Group

July 15, 2011:  The Attorneys’ Focus Group organized by Ron Shems, the Chair of the Natural Resources Board, was part of a series of stakeholders’ meetings to look at ways to improve Vermont’s environmental protection processes (Act 250, ANR/DEC and zoning).  The meeting co-facilitated by Mr. Shems, the Secretary of the Agency of Natural Resources, Deborah Markowitz, and her general counsel Jon Groveman, focused on the overall permitting process with discussion surrounding timeliness, expense, and consolidation. Mark Hall commented that, “The administration seems serious about making some pragmatic changes to the current system near term that will be beneficial to all.”
