PF+C's 2009 United Way Campaign is a FUN Success!Paul Frank + Collins' 2009 United Way Campaign Week was a wildly fun success that raised record high dollars (over $18,500.00) for the many good causes of the United Way. PF+C hosted daily fun events to bring the United Way into the minds of our 57 employees. Several lawyers and staff members raised money while "campaigning" to win the votes of employees so they could compete in an indoor hallway golfing event. Alan "USB" Port, Brenda "Haute" Couture, Bob "Lightning" Cain and Peter "Pants" Collins earned the most votes/dollars and vigorously putted before throngs of cheering fans throughout the hallowed hallways of PF+C's 4th floor office space. Ms. Couture won both of the trophies: one for her superb golfing abilities and the other for earning the most dollars through bets in the charity event!
The staff and lawyers on each of PF+C’s three floors at One Church Street also engaged in a friendly (but very competitive) "Penny War Between the Floors". Employees paid to wear jeans, bought bake sale snacks, and participated in a hilarious Baby Picture Contest where we discovered that many of our lawyers did have hair at one time! The various fundraising events generated a lot of laughs and enthusiasm as well as funds for the United Way charities. Our employees and even some clients were particularly enthusiastic about the silent auction fundraiser which was a great success. PF+C gratefully acknowledges the following local businesses whose donations to the silent auction helped raise over $1,500.00 for the United Way:
Of course, the United Way is a serious organization that does great things in the communities where we live and work. The United Way and its member organizations were clearly in the minds of our employees during the campaign week. "Nearly 100% of Paul Frank + Collins employees pledged their support to the United Way during our campaign,” PF+C HR Manager, Becky Guenther said. “We are immensely proud of the commitment our people are making to the community." For those not familiar, the United Way of Chittenden County funds 35 agency programs which provide direct services to community members who need them. The impact areas include housing, food, parenting/childcare, substance abuse, among others. In addition, the United Way mobilizes volunteers to aid over 270 nonprofit and public agencies. PF+C supports the United Way and community service initiatives year-round. Many employees donate to the United Way through payroll deduction, so they can give on a regular basis. The firm provides paid time off to employees to perform community service of their choosing. In addition, many of our lawyers serve on boards of charitable organizations. The firm makes an extra effort to sponsor the United Way Campaign Week activities, competitions and prizes because we believe that giving should be fun and our employees enjoy the camaraderie. The 2009 Campaign was particularly successful due to the leadership of our Office Manager Cindy Goodrich who led our United Way Committee to what we believe was our most fun and financially successful campaign yet! In addition, credit must be given to our United Way Committee members and project leaders who all worked hard to plan and coordinate the campaign to the employees throughout the firm: Valerie Dillner, Gordon Landrigan, Katie Goggins, Bethany Baymore, Pete McDougall and Becky Guenther. The success of our United Way campaign illustrates the compassion and caring of our employees and their generosity to our neighbors in need. |
