Mr. Pifer's practice is focused on the insurance industry, and includes coverage analysis, litigation, and claims consulting services.  Mr. Pifer represents London Market, European, Bermudian and domestic U.S. underwriters on claim and underwriting issues throughout the United States and abroad. He serves the insurance, reinsurance and alternative risk sectors of the industry.

Mr. Pifer is also Senior Vice President of PF+C Insurance Services (www.PFC-IS.com), a related company, through which he provides claims consulting, audit and management services.  His claims experience covers both property and casualty lines, with a particular focus on specialty and professional lines. He has consulted on claims originating in Brazil, Africa, Western Europe, England, Canada, the Bahamas/Caribbean and throughout the United States.

In addition, Mr. Pifer routinely advises underwriters on market issues and is frequently asked to represent their interests in large loss, high exposure settings involving CAT losses, complex coverage issues and/or  multi-layer insurance structures.  He serves as a special claims consultant to a leading Lloyd's energy underwriter and is a Senior Claims Consultant to a Bermuda mutual insurer for the off and on-shore energy industry. Other clients include domestic and Bermuda Captive Insurance Companies and Risk Retention Groups, for whom he serves as claims counsel.

Mr. Pifer lives in Starksboro, Vermont on the western slopes of the Green Mountains with his wife and four sons. He is an avid boater, golfer and alpine skier.
