Mr. Hall has been a member of the firm since 2000. His practice encompasses civil trial, regulatory and appellate litigation with a special concentration in the areas of land use, environmental, real estate and construction law. He has trial experience in state and federal courts and has represented a wide range of clients in many different state and local administrative proceedings, including the former Environmental Board, the Environmental Court, the Public Service Board, the Water Resources Board, and zoning boards in over fifty Vermont towns. Mr. Hall has represented clients before the Vermont Supreme Court, the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Representative clients in land use, environmental and real estate litigation matters include: Champlain College, Inc., Commonwealth Title Insurance Co., Costco Wholesale Corp., Cumberland Farms, Inc., First American Title Co., Housing Vermont, Husky Injection Molding Systems, J.A. McDonald, Inc., Lathrop Limited Partnership, Lodging North, Inc., Northwest Regional Planning Commission, Retrovest Associates, Inc., South Village Limited Partnership LLP, T-Mobile, Northeast, LLC, University of Vermont, Vermont Gas Systems, Inc., Vermont Law School and Westlake Development.

Currently, Mr. Hall is defending a regional gasoline station franchise in a forty-eight count enforcement action involving eighteen stores in Vermont.

Large commercial project in downtown Burlington consisting of hotel/condominium/mixed use/parking garage

Contested state and local permit for a large gravel pit

Civil Trials
Recently obtained a civil trial judgment (including damages, interest, penalties and attorney’s fees) in a construction lawsuit for a Canadian-based structural steel manufacturing company and a $667,000 settlement for a small child injured by foster parents.
