Peter J. McDougall President + Director
Peter McDougall is a member of the Captive, Corporate and Insurance law teams. Pete’s practice includes advising clients in the captive insurance industry regarding regulatory compliance, entity structure, and corporate governance. Pete also assists captive insurance companies with contract negotiations, commutations, novations, loss portfolio transfers, redomestications, mergers, and dissolutions. Pete also assists clients seeking to write medical stop loss insurance through a captive.
As a member of PF+C’s business services group, Pete assists clients with general corporate matters. Additionally, Pete advises clients on issues involving various aspects of the financial services industry.
During law school, Pete served as a law clerk in the Vermont Department of Banking, Insurance, Securities and Health Care Administration (now known as the Vermont Department of Financial Regulation) and as a Law Clerk to Senator Patrick Leahy and the Democratic Staff of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee.
Pete is the President and Treasurer of PF+C and serves on its three-member Executive Committee.
