Daniel R. Long Director
Daniel Long is a member of the Employment + Labor and Litigation teams at Paul Frank + Collins.
In his employment and labor practice, Dan helps large corporate employers, small businesses, municipalities, educational institutions, hospitals, and non-profit organizations navigate complex federal and state employment and labor laws. Through his counseling work, Dan advises employers regarding compliance measures and risk mitigation strategies pertaining to reasonable accommodations, leaves of absence, employee discipline and termination, employee and independent contractor classifications, wage and hour issues, and non-competition, non-solicitation, and confidentiality agreements. Dan also assists Vermont and multistate employers in structuring and implementing remote work arrangements and in managing a remote workforce.
In his employment litigation practice, Dan handles a broad spectrum of disputes before federal and state courts and administrative agencies, including discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims, occupational safety and whistleblower retaliation cases, wage and hour litigation, and claims pertaining to non-competition, non-solicitation, and confidentiality agreements. In addition, Dan assists Vermont employers with various labor matters, including collective bargaining issues and labor grievances, and represents employers before the Vermont Labor Relations Board and National Labor Relations Board with respect to union election petitions and unfair labor practice charges.
Dan’s general civil litigation practice focuses on disputes involving business and commercial transactions, corporate governance, negligence, and other contract and tort claims in Vermont and Massachusetts state and federal courts.
Prior to returning to his home state of Vermont and joining PF+C, Dan was an employment and labor associate at Mintz Levin and Foley & Lardner, LLP in Boston.
