July, 2019 – Attorney Peter J. McDougall was elected by his peers to serve as the firm’s new President and Treasurer. McDougall, a captive insurance and business lawyer, had previously served on the firm’s Executive Committee as Vice-President since 2014 and has been a Director in the firm since 2012. He replaces Stephanie Mapes who completed her five-year term as President. She remains a Director of the firm and the head of the Captive Insurance Team at PF+C.
During her time as President, Ms. Mapes oversaw a number of firm initiatives including the hiring of a number of specialty practice lawyers for areas such as energy, environmental, municipal financing, litigation, and intellectual property/patents. She worked to ensure growth and positive professional development for all employees in the firm, implemented strength-based strategic planning models at both the firm and practice group levels, and has led the firm to expand employee benefits such as paid parental leave. She commented, “It was my job to lead Paul Frank + Collins through a time of transition and succession, including the retirements of our founding members, to identify and build on our amazing strengths, and position the firm and assist our clients, to thrive into the future. Pete McDougall is one of our amazing strengths, and I have no doubt that he will lead us to exciting opportunities in this ever changing world, and great success as we start the next 50 years of the firm.”
Following his election, Pete discussed the future of PF+C and noted, “I am truly honored to be elected by the Directors of PF+C to serve as the 6th President in the firm’s 51 year history. Stephanie’s outstanding leadership over the past five years has left the firm in a great place and I am very excited about our future. PF+C is made up of amazing people who are not only outstanding at what they do professionally, but who care about each other and their communities. The culture and values of PF+C are paramount to the success the firm has enjoyed in the past, and will lead to continued success of the firm in the future.”
In addition, attorney Michael Wasco was elected to serve as second Vice-President on the firm’s Executive Management Committee. Mike is an intellectual property attorney with an engineering background. He handles patents, trademarks and IP dispute matters for clients.
