Associate Attorney – Litigation
Burlington, Vermont based Paul Frank + Collins seeks an attorney to fill an integral role in a busy and wide-ranging litigation practice. The ideal candidate has strong academic credentials and litigation experience. While candidates with three to six years of experience are encouraged to apply, we also welcome applications from more experienced lateral-level attorneys. All inquiries and applications will be handled with strict confidentiality.
The candidate must have a strong and demonstrated ability to complete assignments under deadlines and to express legal concepts clearly. The candidate should also enjoy interacting verbally and in writing with clients, client representatives, and opposing counsel. The candidate should be ready to manage pleadings, motions, discovery, and other aspects of litigation as part of a team. The candidate must be admitted or eligible for admission to the Vermont Bar and open to becoming licensed in the states of Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, or New York.
Excellent references, academic credentials, analytical abilities, and verbal and written communication skills are required. Candidates should have an interest and commitment to living and working in the wonderful state of Vermont. We practice in an office environment, though some amount of hybrid/remote work is a possibility.

Legal Administrative Assistant – Litigation
At Paul Frank + Collins, we are committed to providing exceptional service in a collaborative and supportive work environment. We are seeking a highly organized Legal Administrative Assistant to support our litigation team. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented and can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting active litigation matters, including preparing and managing case documents, tracking court deadlines, coordinating filings, and communicating with attorneys, clients and external parties. Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and the ability to stay ahead of competing deadlines are essential to keeping cases moving forward efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, proofread, and organize legal documents, including pleadings, correspondence, and filings
- Assist with court filings (including e-filing) and ensure compliance with court rules and deadlines
- Maintain and update case calendars, deadlines, and docket information
- Organize and manage electronic and physical case files
- Communicate professionally with clients, attorneys, courts, and third parties
- Schedule meetings, depositions, and other case-related events
- Support billing, time entry, and general administrative needs as required
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience as a legal administrative assistant, legal assistant, or similar role preferred (litigation experience is a plus, but we will train the right candidate)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Experience with e-filing systems and court procedures is a plus
This is a full-time, in-person position (35–40 hours per week) in our downtown Burlington office, with free and convenient parking. PF+C offers the resources of a larger firm while maintaining a friendly, local culture with a real commitment to work-life balance. We offer a competitive salary and strong benefits package. The salary range for this position is $50,000–$70,000 (or higher based on experience).
