Associate Attorney – Insurance Coverage & Litigation

Burlington, Vermont based Paul Frank + Collins seeks an enthusiastic entry to mid-level associate for our growing Insurance Services practice group. The work involves litigating insurance coverage and bad faith claims, defending insurers in multi-district complex litigation, and counseling insurers in various regulatory and claims handling matters. The ideal candidate has excellent academic credentials and three to four years of insurance coverage experience. Exemplary candidates without such experience will be considered. Law review and clerkship credentials are preferred, but not required.

The candidate must have strong oral advocacy and written communication skills, as well as excellent legal research, writing and analytical skills. Candidates must have a serious interest and commitment to living and working in the wonderful state of Vermont. The candidate must be admitted or eligible for admission to the Vermont Bar.

The ideal candidate has excellent academic credentials and one to five years of litigation experience including some courtroom and deposition experience.  Exemplary applicants, including those completing judicial clerkships, without such experience will be considered.

The candidate must have a strong and demonstrated ability to complete research when working under deadlines and to express legal concepts clearly. The candidate should also enjoy interacting orally and in written communications with clients, client representatives, and opposing counsel. The candidate should be ready to manage discovery and other aspects of litigation as part of a team. The candidate must be admitted or eligible for admission to the Vermont Bar and open to becoming licensed in the states of Maine, Massachusetts, or New Hampshire.

Information Technology Support Specialist

Paul Frank + Collins seeks to hire a full-time IT Support Specialist to provide technical support, superior customer service, and customized training sessions for 50+ users virtually and at our main office. The technician will be responsible for providing first line response to end users requiring assistance with computer systems, hardware, or software issues. This person will respond to queries, run diagnostic programs, isolate problems, and determine and implement solutions. PF+C’s technician will support MS Windows 10, MS Office 2016 (proficiency with Word and Excel required), VOIP, Citrix/VPN, desktops, printer, monitors, keyboards, multi-factor authentications, SmartPhones (Android & iPhone) and other mobile devices, legal specific software, etc.

Our ideal candidate will be technically proficient, approachable, responsive, and able to listen carefully and ask pertinent questions to troubleshoot problems in a calm and courteous manner. Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to prioritize workloads under strict deadlines is necessary.
This position is full-time, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some flexibility to handle calls on occasion after hours may be required. This position reports to the firm’s IT Manager.
